About

Just me

I’m just a person who turned my life into something better I sincerely want to help you get better too. If I can be better, so can you … but since you’re curious: Brian Thomasen is a Columbia University School of Nursing Bachelor and Master of Science with a background as a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Psychology. He is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with prescribing privileges, licensed and registered in New York State. He even has the paperwork to prove it. Just don’t ask him to do paperwork; he prefers people work… and pizza. Practicing expertise in parenting, child development, trauma, anxiety, insomnia, depression, functional analytical psychotherapy, behavior modification, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention issues and neurodivergent conditions. Brian has nearly a decade of experience with Astor Services for Children and Families, serving patients in the Bronx, Queens, and the Lower Hudson Valley. He has also served patients in Brooklyn and Manhattan with Emma Bowen Mental Health. He has worked with patients ranging from three-years-old to twenty-five-years old. He guides parents toward authoritative parenting, and he shares his skills and insight for the sake of the entire family unit. He is blessed to have a wife and son of his own, and he strives to make them proud in everything he does. His life has been influenced by Scouting, his loving—but eccentric—family, and living on Staten Island all his life… but don’t hold that last part against him.
